JEFF FAILE IS THE BAR & SPIRITS DIRECTOR FOR THE NEIGHBORHOOD RESTAURANT GROUP AND DESIGNS AND CREATES THE COCKTAIL PROGRAMS ACROSS PROPERTIES.

JOKINGLY REFERRING TO HIMSELF AS A GEEK WHEN IT COMES TO COCKTAILS, FAILE STARTED OUT AS A PART-TIME BARTENDER BEFORE STEPPING BEHIND THE BAR FULL-TIME IN 2007 AFTER MOVING TO WASHINGTON, D.C. AT PALENA, CHEF FRANK RUTA’S RENOWNED RESTAURANT IN CLEVELAND PARK, FAILE FELL IN LOVE WITH CRAFT BARTENDING AND THE HISTORY BEHIND THE DRINKS AND SPIRITS USED TO CREATE FABLED COCKTAILS. HE BEGAN READING BOOK AFTER BOOK ON THE HISTORY AND TECHNIQUES OF BARTENDING, AND BEGAN TO MAKE A NAME FOR HIMSELF AS ONE OF THE CITY’S TOP MIXOLOGISTS. FOLLOWING HIS TIME AT PALENA, FAILE BECAME THE BAR MANAGER AT CHEF FABIO TRABOCCHI’S FIOLA AND CASA LUCA WHERE HE BECAME WELL-KNOWN FOR HIS SIGNATURE COCKTAILS AND EXTENSIVE KNOWLEDGE OF THE ITALIAN LIQUEUR, AMARO, AND OTHER BITTER SPIRITS.

FAILE IS A MEMBER OF THE DC CRAFT BARTENDERS GUILD AND WAS NAMED AS EATER’S BARTENDER OF THE YEAR IN 2011. HE HAS BEEN FEATURED IN SAVEUR, FOOD & WINE, THE WALL STREET JOURNAL, WASHINGTONIAN, WASHINGTON POST, CAPITOL FILE AND MORE. JEFF LIVES IN D.C. WITH HIS WIFE, NICOLE.
